After some time under development, Pictomio has finally launched its first public 1.0 version. Though still in beta, this amazing image viewer has become an impressive manager with features such as 3D models for albums and categories, an album and category sidebar to quickly drop your images, a powerful zoom and the possibility to categorize photos by several topics.
People tend to stick to the more known messaging clients when there are so many excellent open source alternatives out there like Psi. This client was built to connect to multiple Jabber accounts and almost all IM accounts. It's highly customizable, offers SSL encryption and is supported by a strong community of users.
Since the introduction of the iPhone into popular culture, it seems today that if you haven't got a decent music player on your mobile, you're a bit of a dork. ear not though, because with the PocketMusic Player Bundle, you can replace the default Windows Movile audio player with something altogether cooler. The software provides an amazing environment in which to enjoy digital music, with a raft of features, skins and playback controls.

The ability to manipulate, manage and create images in 3D is one of the greatest advances that computing enables designers to do. Now, designs, prototypes and special effects that would would have been extremely expensive to create for real can be reproduced and changed at will for absolutely nothing. If you're a design professional, or especially if you're involved in CAD, then you'll probably deal with 3D objects and images on a daily basis. If you're into 3D art, you'll need a decent viewer to admire your creations or share them with colleagues and friends. Or, if you just want to breathe new life into a photo collection, why not consider running through a 3D viewer? Here is a list of five top viewers that can handle just about any 3D image:
Free DWG Viewer - Designed especially for CAD professionals and uses ActiveX
Alteros 3D - Simple but powerful 3D viewer with 3D text editing options
Pictomio - View and convert your photos to 3D
Presenter - Adds 3D effects to presentations and slideshows
CyberMotion 3D-Designer - Specifically a 3D design tool but also features an advanced viewer

It wouldn't be too daring to say that everyone has a digital photo camera at home which, in turn, means that most of us have an impressive photo collection. We no longer need to care about film rolls being wasted or pictures not coming up well, so we simply keep on clicking and capturing anything we see through our lens.
So, after reading the good advice provided by our colleagues on insideTonic's sister blog OnSoftware, we've gathered a few ideas about what to do with your photos, along with the necessary software tools to accomplish them. Hope you find them useful!
Copying to your PC
The first obvious step is transferring all those images from the camera to the PC. Many photo applications like XnView or Picasa include an importing tool to perform this task - even Windows its own importing wizard to help you with this process. But you can also use specific apps such as Cam2PC.
Viewing
Now that the photos have been saved on your PC, it's time to see them! There are hundreds of photo viewers available, from the traditional ACDsee to the great Picasa, including also the versatile IrfanView and, more recently, Pictomio, a new and original concept of photo viewer. Which is the best one? Just take a look at our Viewers category and choose the one that fits your needs.
