Desktop alternatives to MegauploadHarold the Homeboy has become something of a cult hero in gaming circles now following the success of Icy Tower. However, due to the addictive nature of the game you end up spending so much time with the little dude that it’s possible to become sick of the sight of him (especially if you want to be as good as the player in this video).
The good news is it’s possible to give Harold a makeover using the built-in templates files. Enter the "\icy tower\characters\template" folder in Windows Explorer and click on the paintbrush icon to open a sprite version of the character. Press Ctrl + E to open up the sprites for editing Use the editor to tweak the character’s design, ensuring that every part of every sprite is the same colour. Make sure you don’t go out of Harold’s green outline (though you can change the colour of this outline). Now save the image and play the game with the template character selected.

To access the Windows Explorer you need to double-click on the 'My Computer' icon on your desktop. Then double-click on your hard drive icon (usually marked 'C://') and find the 'Program Files' folder. Now double click on the 'Icy Tower' folder and you should see a folder titled 'characters'. Then double click this folder icon to access the 'templates' file. Open this in your favourite image editor and you can start making a whole new Harold. Hope this helps
How do you erase Harolds outline?
You shouldn't change Harold's neon green outline, but you can change the colour of the outline using your graphic editor. Let me know if yer still having problems.

how do you download characters
I've found a couple of cool sites for downloading Harold replacements. Try http://hem.passagen.se/peitz/it/ or http://www.icytower.cz/?lang=en&page=characters. All the instructions for downloading and installing the characters are on there. Right, i'm off to play as Homer Simpson.
Im trying to put the haunter dude on to icy tower game but it won't work.How do you put it on???????

If you click on c: or computer then you should have a lot of folders in it. If one of them is games, double click. in that folder you should c an icy tower folder. inside tht folder is a characters folder. Double click that folder. if you download a character you paste the folder of that character in the character folder of icy tower, not in the template folder.

The Icy tower folder (or any other program).. is placed on the place were you installed it on !!.. like do you people have a Folder called Program?.. maby its in there! NOT PROGRAM FILES!, or you COULD Create a Folder that is named GAMES or I AM STUPID LIKE HELL or something like that, any way i got a folder on my second harddrive,(300 giggabytes hard drive)..named SPEL (means Games in Swedish), Re'install your icy tower, and wen you come to were it says choose location of the (icy tower folder), press Browse.. look up your folder called Games that you have created,click on it, press OK, then press Next Next Next Next and so on until it says Finish! and klick on the finish!, and go look up your GAME folder and OPEN it and ABRA KADABRA SIMSALABIM ALAKASAM! POFF! THERE IT IS!!!! this is nuthin to doo with make caracter but plz help me! i need help with how to make the jumpy dude go up with the cheat thing. it says to make a copy of "tower.cfg" i have found that. but i dont know wich folder is the game folder plz help i will be in your debt if you can help to get it working cause i am soooo stuck!
