facebook home iconFacebook’s highly anticipated Android launcher, Facebook Home, is now available. We previously wrote about how Facebook Home will completely change how you use your Android device and now you can try it out for yourself if you have one of the supported handsets and live in the USA. Supported devices include the HTC One X, HTC One X+, Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note III, and of course, the HTC First, which is the first Android phone to come with Facebook Home pre-installed.

Facebook Home will feature Chat Heads for messaging, which are little circle notifications that pop up when you receive a new message so you can quickly view and reply within any app. Earlier today, Facebook updated its Messenger app for Android to include Chat Head functionality. Facebook Home will also feature a slick-looking Cover Feed, which takes over the lock screen and launcher. Cover Feed features a full screen, chromeless news feed that features status updates from your Facebook friends. There’s also a new notification system that pops up on the lock screen.

Facebook is currently having trouble with rolling out Facebook Home, with many users reporting a “not found” error when trying to get to the Play store page. We ran into this error message too but it seems to have been resolved.
