What is Twitter?The new version of Pro Evolution Soccer threatens to redress the balance in the battle to be King of football games. Disappointed with poor showings in the last couple of versions, many PES fans have turned their back on the series in favor of the slicker FIFA titles. If you're a Pro Evo fan then take note, it's safe to come back now.
Having been glued to the demo of Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 this morning, I can safely say that it's recaptured the feel-good factor of previous releases (i.e. anything before PES 2008). Rather than dithering around with silly little changes, Konami has ripped apart the tired gameplay of the last few iterations of Pro Evo and essentially started from scratch.
Defending is not as automated as it was, and now you really have to have your wits about you because the defenders no longer automatically trail the opposing attack. Attacking too has been revitalized by a new passing system and the inclusion of assignable flicks and tricks. Graphically, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 looks better than ever, more game modes and leagues are included, and extras like the stadium editor and special content provided added value.
The key date for your diaries now is September 15th. This is not only when the PC demo of Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 is released but, not-so coincidentally, is also the day when you can download the FIFA 11 demo and see how to the two match up. I'm really glad to hear that PES 2011 is going to be a good contender against FIFA 11 this year, I've been playing FIFA for the last couple years, but I've always wanted to see both sides of the coin and actually see which one is better. I guess I'll be buying PES 2011 this year. Btw, I've been looking for the PES 2011 demo on PS Store, and it's no where in sight, and I'm a PLUS subscriber. Is it true that it's only being released early for Asian and European Plus members?
i got mine off the uk psn its a really good game definately better than previous 2 years, thats 4 sure.
Indie, yes it's only available for PSN Plus users at the moment. From what I've heard its not available in the US until the demo is fully released worldwide on the PS Network next week - even if you have PSN Plus! Makes me wonder if there is much value in having Plus at all.

No way its better or even closer to Fifa this year, PES is just terrible game and I use to be a big fan for it untill last year.
I've been a PES fan since the early PSOne era, and my favourite one is PES 3 on PS2. PES on PS3 and xbox360 was an waful game up until PES 2011. Last year I had moved to Fifa 10 with it's smooth gameplay and it trumped PES 2010 in every way. I've downloaded both demos, Fifa 11 first, played it first and i though they made even improved the near perfect Fifa 10. I had no hope in PES 2011 hence made plans of buying Fifa 11. The. I've played PES 2011 on PS3 and let me say this, Fifa 11 looked like a joke. PES is back, trust me on this, it's a whole new experience. I would say its the first true next ven PES yet. Fifa is good too, but PES made a superb comeback. Can't wait for the full version!!
PES 2011 is back to good old PES 6 format. AI vs player speed control and ball control are terribly unbalanced (which once again means no fast break is physically possible no matter if you are Messi or CR) The graphics look incredible but that is to be expected in this day and age however game play is so unbalanced comparatively to PES 2010 that it once again becomes game of chance and touch-and-go which nullifies individual skill and makes the fients pretty much useless. KONAMI would do itself a great service by abandoning the stoneage difficulty settings and adding sliders which is the common practice from EA to 2k sports. I'm sticking to PES 2010 and looking out to try FIFA 2011

The game is different from the previous series, but it is still bad. "Robotic movement" is how one person described the animations, "skating on ice" is another, and the shooting is terrible, again! The tricks have been moved to the Right stick, and since they are more "stand back while I do this" rather "look at how I seemlessly wiped your eye". In other words, once you initiate a trick you are powerless to integrate it into anything you were doing, (i.e. you cannot quick trick and shoot). Allround the passing is a lot better than before, but the stodgy movement, lack of fluidity and awful shooting again bring this game right down. It amazes me how Konami can get it wrong again and again. Had they made a few simple changes to PES 08 they'd still be ahead of FIFA. As it is, they have given PES fans more excuses to try FIFA, and trust me its hard to go back once that happens.
Mate, u really have no idea what u are talking about. The new pro evo is rubish. The game is just another different game, not pro evo anymore. The shoots are just as random as in fifa and it's no longer possible to score amazing long range shoots like in all the previous versions. The interface has been completely changed, messed up and now it looks like a girls fantasy game. Where are the proper gauge bars, the name of the players and their status? (the red, green yellow arrows...) They are displayed now so small that it's impossible to see them unless u sit 1 meter away from the screen. Konami should be ashamed of this. R.I.P Pro evolution soccer. Please don't fool people like this and push them to buy this rubish. Guys, don't buy this game!!! (or fifa neither).

No. I've played PES 2011 over the weekend and all last night, and i have to say that whilst the shooting and everything is different, it's not impossible- last night i scored a 30-yard belter with Ibrahimovic, right into the top corner. Crosses are good, passing is excellent. All the things you say you don't like about this game are just about ADJUSTMENT. Every new PES requires you to get used to it first- i once declared i would never play PES 2008 after not liking it when i first got it, but why would you go back to PES 6? You don't. You get used to the new game, and in all it's glory, i'm very happy that PES is back on track. I nearly swayed to FIFA last year, but Konami safely has me and my mates back in their huggy arms!
Trust me PES is BACK, give it a few days play and it all comes together nicely. I bought Fifa 10 last year and enjoyed it but PES 2011 is in a different class. It takes time but when you get used to it you will jumping out of your seat when the first 30 yarder goes in, it is so satisfying. Well done Konami it was worth the wait!!
hello...wassup..yeah..pes is BACK....i love this game...the goalkeeper is harder.:_) all position is balance...like that old one...keeper is weak. and now its a bit harder to score...overall we just need to practice...
i thought the last pes was not good. not until i played this one.i was a real fan of pes and i ve been playing pes since the pes 3 on ps2! this version pes 2011 has a lot of like FAILS and gets on ur nerves. it's a real let down for me, its like the players in the game are stupid, i know that they dont have intelligence but they really act stupid , like when u are attacking they dont make space for u to pass them, and not to mention the change player situation .this is the most FAIL things in pes 2011.players act like they are really stupid,it changes player whenever it wants and it picks what ever player the system wants.for example the ball might be in front of a player and i press the L1 button to change player and it changes to another player and then my team loses the ball. and dont tell me its the cursong thingy (assisted unustised and all that) cause i tried them all and everyone is worst than the other.the penalties are even a bigger FAIL than the last pes 2011 while they are meant to be the same as before.and the marking is real shit.how can 3 defenders marking an attacker of the other team. all 3 of them are on the ball and by magic the attacker runs through them.its like they are invinsable.honestly i wonder, dont the guy who acctually makes pes plays the game before realeasing it? cant he see the mistakes in the game? i mean i've tried fifa 2011 and it's by far far better than pes 2011 on gameplay! the goalkeepers act real stupid with their saves!! their moves are really mechanical, not even close to original saves even compared to fifa 2011. and whats up with the shooting ? it's like most of the time the players are like disabled and cant shoot properly.theres really a lot more to mention but im going to stop here.REAL LETDOWN ALL OF IT
I totally think PES2011 is a fail I got it today i played for 3 or 4 hours and the more i play the more i dislike it...shooting is not good at all, and the new passing system, excuse me but it is an absolute SH**. PES 2010 wasn´t better but was more playable and fun to play.. It doesn´t matter if you have messi or amunike playing they all seem the same..no one really makes a difference... too bad

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. Konami once again failed to impress us. Only the Graphics and unneccessary features are improved. The most important this is the game play which is unplayable ! I CANNOT SHOOT! no matter what. The speed and animation of the game is stupid and very unreal. The passing system, the goals keeping, and everything is so bad that i have left the game in favor of PES 2010.
hi to all, just read all the comments above and don't sure if i should play this game. yes, i did pay for PES 2011 and delivery date is tomorrow. yes i played PSE 2009,2010 and i like the gave but it was funny that in PES 2009 i can pass the ball to goalkeeper and he can touch it. anyway let me get you back after i play PES 2011. hope its better then what i see here. PES (PC) is the only game that I play, untill now, I am thinking of buying me FIFA 11 to see if that game is better. I could not wate for PES 2011 to come out & when it did I bought it but I am very dissapointed in it. PES 2010 is a great game which I enjoy but PES 2011 is very dissapointing compared to the excitement & action I got out of PES 2010. PES 2011 dissapintments: the new co commentator is crap; the sound effects of PES 2010 when hiting the post does not exist; sometimes there is no whistle when the ball goes out of play; controlling your passing & shooting has been made very complicated; the spark & excitement/rush which I got from PES 2010 is not there anymore. I think Konami must recall this game & keep it simple like PES 2010 is before they lose all their customers.
PES 2010 was a great game, i really loved it. It was all so simple and clever...2011 sucks. A lot. It just makes me end the game in the middle of match, as it just drives me crazy. NOTHING new happened since last year, nothing that would make the game better. The referees are evon more stupid, and i Would shoot the guy who made AI of offside referees, dammit. Just do not buy this game, I didnt play FIFA 11 but it just CAN NOT be worse than PES, so i'll try it out.

that new passing system is rubbish now d game feeling like fifa and i HATE fifa.player stats dont mean anything because all the players run at the same speed no sorry the defending player runs faster.In pes 2011 Lucio beat Sergio Aguerro in a foot race for a loose ball and why did they give players balance and high balance center forwards constantly gets pushed off the ball the stats in this game does not make any sense.I was satisfied with the updated pes 2010 and i will b playing this untill pes 2012 comes out or the pes 2011 update is really really good.......that fifa passing system needs to go
P.S. gameplay options for e.g. semi-assist, unassisted etc is also rubbish what happened to the manual system in the older games it was really very good

honestly i've been playing pes 2011 a lot cause i was pes is my game..or at least it was..every day i see more and more how much it sucks! the players are like retarded there is no communication between them lots of fail passes, players react real slow like they have lag or something..its a real stupid pes version!! way to go konami !! u suck

Just got a PS3 and having been a big fan of Pro Evo since ISS 98 I have to say the game was a real let down. Totally unenjoyable to play to say the least! Sold it on Ebay after 24 hrs and off to get a used copy of Pro Evo 10 see if that can fill the void. Very dissapointing all round.

The motion is completely childish, online game sucks an the scores are absolutely unfair. The game is trash. I'm very dissapointed because EA destroyed our game. Fifa used to be a game for kids. But now its the best soccer simulation game i've ever played.I'm not even bothering to compare the two games. EA u have destroyed your own name!

fifa 10 was a great game, fifa 11 slightly adjusted, pro 10 ok pro 11 fucking great game i hated it at first but when you get used to the game play its a fantastic game.
I think pro evo has made a great come back, the first 3 games i got my ass kicked by my buddies, but i finally got the new system and im unstoppable right now. The gameplay is smooth and realistic, the passes are amazing and throught balls go where u want them, if you aim right. its trully amazing.
