As of April 26, social browser Flock's developers will no longer be offering support to users. Based on Chrome, Flock's browser interface integrated several different social networks including Facebook and Twitter to give its users the ultimate social browsing experience.

Flock's creators advise current users to switch to other browsers and specifically recommend Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Without regular security patch updates, a browser may be susceptible to newer viruses, malware and other internet threats that could potentially do harm to your PC.
For those seeking a similarly social browsing experience to Flock, RockMelt is another fantastic option that integrates Facebook, Twitter and your favorite blog feeds quite seamlessly. In fact, we've even pitted Flock and RockMelt head-to-head here at OnSoftware before, with RockMelt coming out on top in its current development stage. There's no shortage of good browser alternatives!
Do you use Flock? If so, what browser are you planning on switching to and why? Let us know in the comments below.

Well, to be honest, I lost interest in Flock when it started being based on Google Chrome. I'm a Firefox fan and the extras that Flock had, while based of Firefox, is what originally drew me to the browser.
I'm sad to see it go, but it's not unexpected.
I completely agree with Crystal. When the new, Chrome-based, version of Flock came out I wasn't impressed at all, and immediately reverted to an older, Firefox-based, version. Flock plus Firefox add-ons was unbeatable.
Oh well, back to Opera and Firefox.
Crystal and Bradley,
I was personally always more into RockMelt than Flock myself, but I do know a lot of people who loved the latter.
Niamh recently wrote up a great post on browser alternatives to IE, Firefox and Chrome if you haven't already seen it. Definitely worth a look if you are interested in checking out other browsers (some of which are based off Firefox, et al): http://onsoftware.en.softonic.com/top-alternatives-to-firefox-chrome-and-ie
Thanks for your comments! -Amber
I think rockmelt is great to use, specially if you add the tweetdeck browser plugin. However, Rockmelt is slow.
I still use Firefox and Chrome daily along with rockmelt.

I really miss Flock - still use it on some computers - best image uploads - Is it based on an open source ?
