There will be no desktop version of WhatsApp, and the iOS version will move to a yearly subscription service for new users. CEO Jan Koum confirmed this in an interview with the Dutch site Tweakers.

Koum said the company wished to focus on Mobile, and while there is a lot of demand for a desktop version, they have no plans to make one. WhatsApp believes the world is moving to mobile: as your phone is always with you desktop is a secondary experience. This will upset users already pointing out that WhatsApp competitor Line does offer a desktop app to complement the mobile version.

Payment Changes.

Currently all versions of WhatsApp have the same model – its free for one year, and then has a yearly subscription fee. WhatsApp for iOS will join this model sometime this year. This will only apply to new users – if you have already bought WhatsApp for iOS, you will not be charged.

If you do want to use WhatsApp on desktop, its possible by using Blue Stacks App Player. Find out how to install WhatsApp on your PC.
